Check out the Birch Press Design Blog today, yup you guessed it I am over there today! Let’s work with those awesome layering dies we have all seen and fell immediately in love with! Hopefully this video will help if you have been intimidated by them! I know I was at first… Once you get the hang of them, they are absolutely beautiful! …and there is so much you can create with them…. Just wait until you see! I just started playing around with them to see just what they can do! Pulled out some card stock and a die cutting I went! I had to start with the SPLASH Layering Die Set! Always Remember... Be Inspired, Be Creative, ENJOY and SHARE what you create today! ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! We are back with another design team project for Scrapping for Less! Today, let’s have fall be magical and elegant at the same time! Fall pulls in some great depth and richness in our color choices! The stamp set for my design team project is by Brutus Monroe and it’s called Conservatory of Quotes! The floral bouquet is perfect for any coloring medium you want to dig into and play around with! For today, I had to choose my distress inks, they have been very neglected lately and I wanted to create a water color background affect. I remember seeing a video by Kristina Werner and I just fell in love with the colors she chose… I was very much inspired by her and the panel she made! Once I chose my colors, I pulled out a piece of Canson XL watercolor paper and traced a rectangle using one of my dies from my stash. I used my blue tape to secure my water color panel down since there was going to be a lot of water going on here… Picked up my colors that I laid down onto my craft earlier and went to town just dropping them all in. I did this twice making sure it was dry in between each time I added more color. After this was completely dry I stamped my focal image and sentiment using my versafine black ink and heat set it with my clear embossing powder. Trimmed my panel down to 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2 in and adhered it to my card Standard A2 size top folding card base. Added some Nuvo Drops in black to give just some added shine! So now we can let fall begin with elegance! Check out all the fun details in the video below! Always Remember... Be Inspired, Be Creative, ENJOY and SHARE what you create today! ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! We are back with another design team project for Scrapping for Less! Today I am going to show you a ‘gem’ of a card! LOL The stamp set I used for my project is by Heffy Doodle and it’s called Geology Rocks! Some great images to color along the sentiments to match! I started by stamping my images using VersaFine black ink and colored them in with my Spectrum Noir Glitter Markers. I love these, and they come in so many different colors! Once they were dry, and yes I helped this along with my heat tool… I fussy cut them out and set them aside so I could work on my card base. I decided to attempt a gatefold card so I cut my cardstock 5 1/2 in x 8 1/5 in and scored each side at 2 1/4 in. This way each side folds in to create that simple gate fold card! I stamped one of my sentiments on the lower right-hand side, and another for the inside to add something extra! I placed my diamond images on a diagonal up my card front with the center focal image propped up with some double-sided foam squares and extended over the right-side edge of my gatefold! Now how easy was that! Check out all the fun details in the video below! Right now, getting Inky, suffering paper cuts, cutting with metal dies and stamping everything, whether it moves or not makes me smile and I must pass that along to everyone I know and don’t know!
