Let's also talk about mats and measurements... In the stats we generally use an A2 size card (4 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches)... Your mats can be any size you like... There is so much available to the paper crafter, but do we really need all the tools? I am here to say no... Paper, scissors, adhesive and your imagination is really all you need! Grab your favorite paper pad you have been hording and page through to find those images or even fussy cut an image and that would be perfect to create your frame arrangement! You can either use an image or even a section of one of the pattern papers to create this card. When cutting out my focal points I like to mat them again a solid piece of card stock and the best part you those value packs are perfect for this! For today's project let's make an open faced card front, and only using supplies we already have in our stash and no fancy gadgets! I am going to use one my 6 x 6 paper pads I have had for awhile sitting in my stash! I used one of the sheets with the cut outs and then matted them onto a solid piece of kraft or black card stock. One they were ready A cut a piece of scratch card stock at 4 1/4 in x 5 1/2, the size of our card base and started placing my matted images around making sure there was open space in between some of them. Once they were set the glueing commenced! My card base was cut 4 1/4 in x 6 in scored at 5 1/2 in. This tab is what I connected my card front to. I cut a piece of the patter paper with a great web design and made sure my sentiment panel sat inside the card just behind the panel! But I saw that I was using all of those gadgets that we have collected... so I thought..... Lets make them but this time only using pattern paper! So Episode 12 of our Simplicity Series was created, LOL... Dig into those stashes of pattern paper and get to cuttin'... Want to give these are try? Here are the dimensions for your card base to cut!Portrait Card Base: Cut your card stock 5 3/4 inches (wide) x 5 1/2 inches (tall) and then you will score along the 5 3/4 inch side at 3/4 inches and then at 1 1/2 inches - turn your card stock and score the opposite end in the same manner Landscape Card Base: Cut your card stock 8 inches (wide) x 4 1/4 inches (tall) and then you will score along the 8 inch side at 1 1/4 inches and then at 2 1/2 inches - turn your card stock and score the opposite end in the same manner For more crafty details as well as a list of supplies used for this project, click on the video below! Since about the time I spoke my first word, I’ve been an avid crafter alongside my mom and sister. You name the craft and I’ve probably made it and collected it.
