For our introductory paragraph how about a history lesson on the 4 elements of our kit? As we delve into Myths and Legends this month let’s take a closer look at these creatures.  According to Wikipedia on Nessie: n Scottish folklore, the Loch Ness Monster or Nessie is a creature said to inhabit Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. It is often described as large in size with a long neck and one or more humps protruding from the water. Popular interest and belief in the creature has varied since it was brought to worldwide attention in 1933. Evidence of its existence is anecdotal, with a few disputed photographs and sonar readings. The scientific community regards the Loch Ness Monster as a phenomenon without biological basis, explaining sightings as hoaxes, wishful thinking, and the mis-identification of mundane objects.[2]  According to the Ancient History Encyclopedia on the legendary Pegasus: Pegasus (or Pegasos) is a winged-horse from Greek mythology which was fathered by Poseidon and was born from the severed neck of the gorgon Medusa, slain by Perseus.  According to fiveminutehistory.com on Fairies: Most of us can’t see fairies. They live in a parallel universe called the “realm of the fey.” According to legend, fairies went into hiding to avoid us because … well, we invaded their lands, so what else could they do? As we modernized the world with electricity, built roads and cities, and cut down trees, the fairies were forced to “go underground” and hide in caves, burrows, underwater fortresses, and finally into the spirit world.  According to Wikipedia on Gnomes: A gnome /noʊm/[1] is a diminutive spirit in Renaissance magic and alchemy, first introduced by Paracelsus in the 16th century and later adopted by more recent authors including those of modern fantasy literature. So just as the name of the set is called, let's make a wreath! ...ok I had border in mind... LOL Using my Gina K Inks I started with my largest image and then worked my way down in scale ending with the greenery to fill in the open areas. My sentiment is from a stamp set called Beach Sentiments by Elizabeth Craft Designs! Finished up my card with some sequins to add a little sparkle to our summertime! The set for today's project is called Summer Rose and this is so unique because the set is red rubber and it is a layering stamp set! We are so use to clear stamps set up this way, so I thought I was in for a big challenge! I am using black and ivory card stock for my card.  I used Altenew Inks for my stamping in Ruby Red, Grapevine, Coral Berry, Frosty Pink, Evergreen, Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf... After they were stamped I fussy cut them out and set them a side while I worked on my background panels.  I used embossing folders for my backgrounds called Inspire and Beach Towel by Fun Stampers Journey! Layers all my pieces onto a Standard A2 size Top Folding Card Base. Here are just some of the products used for today's project... This release is filled with any type of celebration you can think of... Retirement - Summer, Birthday, the list can go one and on! Make sure you check this release out to get your favorites today! The stamp set I am using for my project is called Chillin' Frenchies! and it is way too precious! It celebrates, Friendship, Retirement, and Summer just to name a few!  I used my altenew alcohol makers to color my image and distress inks to have a blended background using tumbled glass and antique linen...  I cut out my panel using SSS Stitch Rectangle Frames and placed this onto the standard A2 size top folding card base (4 1/2 in x 5 1/2 in). Here are a few products used for today's project... Since about the time I spoke my first word, I’ve been an avid crafter alongside my mom and sister. You name the craft and I’ve probably bought it, collected it, tried it and finally stored it. Right now, getting Inky, suffering paper cuts, cutting with metal dies and stamping everything, whether it moves or not makes me smile and I must pass that along to everyone I know and don’t know!
