Hello Everyone!
The new catalog is packed with amazing stamp and die sets and new fails with new inspiration! When I saw the 'Text Ya Later' stamp set I just knew it was a shaker card with all the icons and sentiments becoming the main element in the shaker... If interested to know more, just contact me and I will let you know how you can add this stamp set to your collection... Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~Desiree Hello Everyone! Who does not love a shaker card! There is always one designed from my kits I get! ![]() Here I used the individual stamps to build my floral bouquet on my card. They were then colored using my prismacolor brush tip alcohol markers - no I am not a copic user! I know amazing, but I love the prismacolors... and I do have a few copics and they blend together beautifully! I added white dots with my gel pen for a small accent! I used a heart shaped die I had in my stash and this became my opening for my shaker card. Cut a piece of acetate to cover the opening and surrounded the edges with a double layer of foam tape. I cut a piece of the pattern paper for the backing and set it in place after filling the area with my sequins and seed beads. Created my sentiment and popped my card design onto a top folding 4 1/4in x 5 1/2in card base. You have to give a shaker card a try, and remeber you do not need ot use sequins, you can use all kinds of small embellishments to fill in the openeing... Enjoy and share what you create! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! I am in love with this card! I have never used metallic paints, not sure how that happened, but I have been missing out.... ![]() I took a chance and used general black card stock to paint on... I have the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors and here is a tip when painting with them. Make sure you spray a little water into the color pans you are going to use and let it set for a minutes. The pigment will move freely by doing this! I stamped the large floral design from the kit in VersaMark Ink and embossed in gold. I then used the Red Gold, Yellow Gold, Champagne Gold and White Gold. These pictures do not do this card justice to show the colors correctly and how it just shines and glitters! ![]() I set this panel aside to dry and cut a strip of pattern paper and white card stock. The white card stock I blended a touch of the Oxide Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick and white embossed the sentiment chosen. For an embellishment I used my Ranger Enamel Liquid. I also played around with the envelope that was provided and gold embossed the large floral image on the back flap for an added touch! Try this out, you will not be disappointed in the Gansai Tambi Pigments... Enjoy what you Create! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! I must say this card kit really pulled out many techniques... I used the Oxide Distress Ink as a watercolor on card #4! ![]() Canson XL Watercolor really became my friend throughout this series... Used as the base, I stamped the large floral image and sentiment chosen with VersaMark Ink so the image could be embossed in gold. I then pulled out my Vintage Photo Oxide Distress Ink and splattered over the image and the rest of the background. Using my craft mat I smooshed (technical term) the Worm Lipstick Oxide Ink and added some water and painted within the embossed image. I used a cream card stock, top folding standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" size. Enjoy what you create and talk soon! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! Here is card #3 and was originally a mistake I thought was going to go into the trash... BUT we never give up! ![]() For this card I started with Canson XL Watercolor paper and used Oxide Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick to create a watercolor background. I them stamped three of the individual flowers from the kit with VersaMark Ink so I could emboss the images in gold... and here is where the eye opener happened! Now yes, I waited for the watercolor to dry and forgot to use my anti-static pouch... When I poured the gold powder over my image, it actually stuck to some areas within the background. I set the card aside and thought I would have to completely re-do the design... I came back to the base and started to go with it and I pulled out my VersaMark pen and continue to add to the markings within the background and embossed them as well... I loved it! Placed a black stripe behind my sentiment chosen and popped the based onto the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" black top folding card base. I find it difficult to let mistakes go and remember, we create handmade items and what we may think are errors or mistakes adds to your creation's charm!
I hope you enjoy! Talk Soon! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~Desiree Welcome back! Continuing in the SSS June 2017 Card Series - here is Card #2!, inspired by Shari Carroll from Simon Says Stamp.
Popped up the card base onto foam sheet and adhered to a top folding standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" black card stock.
Give this a try! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Let's Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~ Desiree Hello Everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying their week so far... I fell immediately in love with the Simon Says Stamp June 2017 Card Kit. The inspiration for this kit was incredible... Here is my first card...
Added a simple "thank you" banner and accented the flower centers with my Nuvo Drops...
This card is perfect for any occasion, whether a simple thank you or just a note of encouragement you want to send someone... I hope you give this a try! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Get Inky and Stamp! ~ ~ Desiree Good Afternoon Everyone!
This is my FIRST post and I am very excited for this new site and adventure! If you checked out my about section, you can see I love any thing that is crafty... I tried them all, and yes, most of them stuck with me. Knitting, crochet, cross stitch, needlepoint, and quilting, just to name a few. I have even started my own website for my sewing/quilting 6 years ago! (In case you want to be nosy, you can check it out HERE!) Of course we can never stop there and I blame YouTube! It all started with a search for an idea I had with my sewing and somehow I came across the channel for Lindsay Weirich-thefrugalcrafter and I immediately fell in love with her style using mix media and she then mentioned other crafters and of course I had to check them out! Next in, Jennifer McGuire, Wendy Cranford, and Vicky Papaionnou. These wonderful artists taught me more card making techniques, art journaling, and Stampin Up! Then those companies that create these wonderful stamps, dies and other embellishments... (I think they know me personally...shhhhhhhh) A re-design in my office/craft area and we now own and operate another website called Include a Thank You ...and then some! and I am an Independent Demonstrator. You would think I would have a lot of free time, but not really! I love creating and sharing, so here is the place for me and others that share my addiction... Please make sure you stop back often to see all the different projects created and the free tutorials I want to offer so you can enjoy this craft even more! I know there are so many out there that could even teach me more, so let's share and talk about getting inky, getting paper cuts and stamping anything that does not move! Be Inspired, Be Creative and Get Inky and Stamp! ~ See Ya Soon! ~ Desiree |
Getting Inky, suffering paper cuts, cutting using metal dies and stamping everything... These are just some of the fun and mischievous ways together we will create paper art! So stay and be motivated and inspired! ...and let me know what inspires your creativity!
Since about the time I spoke my first word, I’ve been an avid crafter alongside my mom and sister. You name the craft and I’ve probably made it and collected it. I simply find so much joy in working with my hands and seeing a happy customer with one of my creations. There’s nothing better! But I also love helping people become stronger and seeing them find THEIR happy through THEIR creations.
